ABOUT MELANIE

Melanie is a creative, strategy-focused designer with over five years of professional studio experience and a BFA from The Maryland Institute, College of Art. She is committed to sustainability practices and community building in design and beyond, and has worked for several years in-house at The JCC in Manhattan within its fast-paced marketing department. With assets in photography, layout, and typography, Melanie is a skilled and precise designer from ideation to production and is confident working independently as well as part of a team. Her dedication to a job well done makes her an asset to any design team.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER | ASSOCIATE ART DIRECTOR

The JCC in Manhattan, NYC, 2006–2011
Team member of a small, fast paced in-house design department. Responsible for concept and development of institutional branding and marketing materials such as program catalogs, brochures, invitations, posters, environmental signage, and advertising campaigns. Accountable for art direction, illustration, photography, and management of individual and team projects. Work directly with the web developers to coordinate artwork for e-mails and website. Manage freelance and junior designers.

Worked with the existing brand image for this internationally recognized salon in the creation of promotional materials such as coupons, signage, DVD packaging, website banner ads, invitations, and e-mails.
